The SDSU Writers Collective is in the process of putting together a chapbook that will showcase the great writing that is being produced by the students of the MFA program. DEADLINE: APRIL 5thThe first step in this project is compiling work from all students in the program. If this your first year, this is a great opportunity for usThanks to become familiar with your work. If you're graduating soon, it's a chance toallwhetwhooursubmittedpalatework for your thesis when it's published in the library (or bookstores!) Unfortunately, we won't be able to run a 30 page short story or epic poem from everyone, so there is a cap: 5 pages per student. Think of it as your own 5 pages with which to do whatever you please--multiple works, some poetry some fiction, excerpts, etc. Since this book will hopefully be around for future students and faculty to read, weproject.encourage you toThesubmitofficialwhatpressyoureleaseconsiderpartytowill be your best work. (And, of course, you keep the rights! see below)We would like to represent everybody in thenextprogram,Friday, at least anyone who wants to put something into the book. That means that there is no qualitative competition. However, if we can't physically fit all the stories into the chapbook (which can probably be 200 pgs max) the process of selection will be first comeDirtyfirstLaundryserve.A note on rights: Since this is a self-publication, writers retain all rights to work published therein, and may continue to submit said stories for professional publication. So there you have it--there's no reason notreading,to share that gem you've been polishing for allScrippstheseCottage, months.Again, the deadline is April 5th. Submit your work as soon as possible to ensure publication of your work: sdsuwriterscollective@gmail.comThanks for your25,participation!7pm.
